Can't anyone call themselves a coach these days?

Yes, anyone can call themselves a coach. There has been an influx of people completing a short 30 day online course and calling themselves a coach.

This is not the case with Sharon. She is the real deal. As well as having a range of qualifications and over three decades of experience, Sharon is also an ICF Certified Coach.

ICF-credentialed coaches are professional coaches who have met stringent education, assessment and experience requirements, and have demonstrated a thorough understanding of the coaching competencies that set the standard in the profession.

In addition, ICF-credentialed coaches adhere to strict ethical guidelines as part of ICF’s mission to protect and serve coaching consumers.

They complete rigorous ongoing professional development and practice requirements that provide unquestioned legitimacy to their commitment to excellence in coaching.

They are also required to have coached for more than 100 hours with 75 hours paid. This means the market (not family and friends) has proven Sharon’s credibility, effectiveness and legitimacy as a coach.

How is Coaching different to Self-Help?

Self-help is great! In fact as a Professional Coach I encourage you to read widely to build upon your brilliance. However, If you want to take advantage of an opportunity or challenge, feel “stuck” on the path to achieving your goals, or simply believe there’s something more to discover in your personal or professional life, partnering with a professional coach could benefit you.

Coaching clients who responded to the 2017 ICF Global Consumer Awareness Study reported positive coaching impacts including:

  • Improved communication skills
  • Increased self-esteem/self-confidence
  • Increased productivity
  • Optimised individual/team work performance
  • Improved work/life balance
  • Increased well-being
  • Improved business management strategies
  • Expanded professional career opportunities
  • Accelerated on-boarding into a new professional role
Why is hiring a Coach worth my time and money?
Here’s five reasons why a (legitimate) coach is worth the investment of time and money.

  • Gain wisdom and direction in your fitness and nutrition.
  • Shake off your unhelpful mindsets once and for all.
  • End the frustration of starting and stopping.
  • Learn more about your hormones and what the expect during menopause and beyond.
  • Create good habits around food and exercise and the foods that are right for you.
Why else should I choose Sharon to be my Coach?

Because I get it. My path to success hasn’t been easy or straightforward – like all of us, I’ve gone through tough times, so I know how important health and wellbeing is.

I ran a successful hospitality and event management company but was working crazy hours. I started a beautiful family but struggled through personal trauma and mental health issues. I ended up overwhelmed emotionally, and my own health and fitness suffered (my clients now would be appalled!).

I got my own health and wellbeing back on track by figuring out what I enjoyed and haven’t looked back. I’d love to help you do the same.

– Sharon

What is the ZEAL approach?

Professional coaching focuses on setting goals, creating outcomes and managing personal change. Other service professions, like consulting and psychotherapy, are based on the wisdom and expertise of the professional. In coaching, you—the client—are the expert. Your coach’s role is to ask powerful questions, act as a sounding board, provide objective assessment and observations, listen fully and actively, challenge your blind spots, and foster shifts in thinking that reveal fresh perspectives.

The most successful coaching partnerships begin with a client who has a clear idea of what they want to accomplish (jump on a call and I’ll help you clarify this) and is open to collaboration and new perspectives.

As a coaching client, your role is to:

Create the coaching agenda based on personally meaningful goals. Assume full responsibility for your own decisions and actions. Use the coaching process to promote possibility thinking and fresh perspectives. Engage big-picture thinking and problem-solving skills. Take the tools, concepts, models and principles provided by your coach and engage in effective forward actions.
